Massage at Schiphol for weekly commuters, Monday in and Thursday out
What this page covers
Some people commute by aeroplane: in on Monday, out on Thursday or Friday, back again the following week. For them Schiphol is not an airport so much as a weekly routine, and this page is about the evenings inside it.
The commuter's week
A weekly commuter's week has a shape that barely changes. An early flight on Monday, straight to the office, a long first day. Tuesday and Wednesday are the working core, with evenings that are either full of client meals or completely empty. Thursday is the last day, often cut short by the flight home. The empty evenings are the ones this page is about. By the second or third month of the pattern, a commuter knows exactly which evening of the week tends to be free, which room they will be in and how tired they will be. That makes them unusually good at booking, because almost nothing about the evening is uncertain except the name they want to ask for.
Massage at Schiphol, booked week by week
The house does not offer standing bookings, and for a good reason: each therapist decides each booking on her own, so no hour can be held in anyone's name for weeks at a time. What commuters do instead is write once a week, as soon as the week's schedule is certain, usually on Monday morning or even Sunday evening. The message is short: a name, an evening, an hour, a length and the address. At Schiphol the journey time is agreed before anything is fixed. The reply comes back with a confirmation or an alternative, and half of the fee goes ahead. The evening is then settled, and the rest of the week can get on without it.
Which evening, and how long
Commuters tend to settle on Tuesday or Wednesday. Monday is usually too tired and too long, and Thursday too close to the flight home. Ninety minutes is the usual length, starting at eight or nine, long enough to deal with a stiff back and still be asleep before midnight. Some commuters change the format by the week: a quiet week gets sensual massage, a hard one gets tantra, and the week a project ends gets something longer. The rates stay the same whatever the choice: 180 euros for one hour, 270 for ninety minutes, 360 for two hours and 540 for three, for one guest with one therapist, and the figures include all taxes.
The deposit, every week
A commuter booking at Schiphol always carries a deposit, and so does anything booked more than twenty-four hours ahead, so a Tuesday evening booked on Monday is covered by the rule twice over. Half of the fee goes ahead by card, Revolut, Wise or cryptocurrency once the hour is agreed, and the remaining half is paid on arrival. Regulars sometimes ask whether the deposit falls away after a few months. It does not, at Schiphol. The one booking without a deposit is a returning guest's same-day request for one or two hours at an address in central Amsterdam, so a commuter who stays in town rather than by the airport will sometimes book that way instead.
Commuters who stay in town
Not every commuter sleeps near the airport. Many stay in central Amsterdam, near the office they visit or simply because the evenings are better there, and take the train out to Schiphol or the business district in the morning. For them the booking is a city booking: arrival within forty to sixty minutes of confirmation, anywhere from the Jordaan and the centre to De Pijp, Oud-Zuid and Zuidas. The rates do not change. If you split your weeks, staying by the airport some weeks and in town others, the same thread covers both, and the only difference you will notice is whether a journey time is agreed or the usual window applies.
When the week falls apart
Meetings move and flights get cancelled. Cancelling more than twenty-four hours before the booked time returns the whole deposit. Inside the final twenty-four hours, before she has set out, half is kept and half returns. Once she is on her way, the deposit is kept, unless the hour goes to another booking, in which case it is repaid. One move to a date within fourteen days is free if asked for more than twenty-four hours ahead, which suits commuters well: a Tuesday that collapses on Sunday can simply become next Tuesday. The terms set out the complete rule.
The partner who comes out on Thursday
Some commuters bring a partner out for the last night of the week, turning the working trip into a short stay. A couple booking with one therapist pays 360 euros an hour; with a therapist each, 720. For the overnight, a couple sharing one therapist pays 2,500 for the eight hour block. Both of you have to be twenty-one or over, and she may ask either of you for a photo document at the door. Say in the first message that there will be two of you and which arrangement you mean. As always, the therapist decides whether to accept the booking and states her limits in her own words when she arrives.
A commuter's first booking
If you are new to the pattern, the first booking is slightly longer to write: address, hour in Amsterdam time, length, and a name from the therapists or a line about the evening. After that, the weekly message is one line. Keep the hour in Amsterdam time, write once the week is certain, and the rest takes care of itself. Every therapist and every guest is twenty-one or over, the rates never change with the day or the hour, and the house arranges, agrees and confirms, while the therapist decides.

Write, and the thread does the rest
Send the week
Give the building, the hour in Amsterdam time and how long you want, and a name, a figure and a journey time come back in the same thread. A second trip needs far less typing than a first.
